"THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM"
Elizabeth Barnard Medina (Barbara Steele) has died in the prime of life, and her brother, Francis (John Kerr), wants to know why. Elizabeth’s husband, Nicholas (Vincent Price), and her doctor offer differing explanations, but when Francis learns that Nicholas’ mother may have been buried alive, he begins to wonder if his sister met the same fate. And when he comes to believe that Elizabeth’s spirit wanders about Nicholas’ castle, Francis investigates — and is stunned by what he finds.

Saturday Matinee Classics "NOSFERATU" at Enzian

Saturday Matinee Classics: "NOSFERATU"
About the film:
A cornerstone of the horror film, F.W. Murnau’s NOSFERATU: A SYMPHONY OF HORROR is resurrected in an HD edition mastered from the acclaimed 35mm restoration by the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung. Backed by an orchestral performance of Hans Erdmann’s 1922 score, this edition offers unprecedented visual clarity and historical faithfulness to the original release version.

An unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, NOSFERATU remains to many viewers the most unsettling vampire film ever made, and its bald, spidery vampire, personified by the diabolical Max Schreck, continues to spawn imitations in the realm of contemporary cinema.

Germany, 1922, 94 minutes, Silent with English Intertitles, Directed by F. W. Murnau

Midnight Movies: "RE-ANIMATOR" at Enzian

About the movie:
H.P. Lovecraft and Lucio Fulci did not team up to make the most amazing gore-sex grotesquerie of 1985 — but thanks to RE-ANIMATOR, they didn’t have to. Director Stuart Gordon and producer Brian Yuzna’s joint debut feature, this epochal, awe-inspiring amalgam of FRANKENSTEIN, THE BEYOND, and REVENGE OF THE NERDS is where science meets chaos to produce an hyperactive overdose of gruesome insanity.

Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs) is a new Miskatonic University student who also moonlights as a mad scientist, intent on perfecting a serum that “re-animates” corpses. Soon, everyone wants a piece of the action, including an evil professor and his army of slime-covered deadites. With berserker theatrics, career-defining roles from horror icons Combs and Barbara Crampton, and a scene of two adults chasing an undead cat in a basement, RE-ANIMATOR isn’t just a masterpiece of the horror genre — it’s a masterpiece of life.

Midnight Movies: "THE HILLS HAVE EYES"

About the movie:
New 4K Restoration!

From the mind of Wes Craven, THE HILLS HAVE EYES stands alongside the likes of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD as one of the defining moments in American indie horror.

Taking a detour whilst en route to L.A., the Carter family is in deep shit when their campervan breaks down in the middle of the desert and they find themselves at the mercy monstrous cannibals lurking in the surrounding hills. With their lives under threat, the Carters are forced to fight back by any means necessary.

Horror master Craven achieved critical and commercial success with the likes of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and SCREAM — but for many genre fans, the director’s seminal ‘77 effort remains his masterpiece.

USA, 1977, 89 minutes, Rated R, Directed by Wes Craven

This is a special screening and they often sell out. We recommend getting your tickets online ahead of time.
